4th Annual Ride For Mo, May 9, 2026

The morning started off with bright sunshine and crisp blue skies. By the end, we were sprinkled with a faint dusting of moisture from the heaven’s blessing us as we went our separate ways. I can say with confidence that we each took with us a gift in knowing and experiencing the power of love and joy resulting from a caring community in union with Moriah’s spirit.

After completing the fourth annual Ride For Mo, I’ve made the observation how each year is both different and the same. It’s different at the start on Heaven’s bench by the unique words and message shared by our guest speaker, the weather, the people and the recent joys and challenges that we all are going through. It’s the same in the sense that Moriah is remembered, celebrated and honored as she joins us in spirit throughout the day. It’s the same power of community that shows up with the intention to engage with joy, kindness, service, perseverance and support.

What made this year quite different is that the ride took place shortly after the release of the documentary “The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson” on Netflix and our trip to Austin where we saw it premiered at the South by Southwest film festival. Many of us were impacted by big emotions on a large spectrum by this film and it influenced our experience at RFM. Kate Quay took us on a meditative journey inviting us individually and collectively to connect with Moriah’s spirit. This unique experience resulted, at least from my perspective, in a deep sense of love and joy throughout the day. It was like Moriah wanted all of us to know how happy she is in heaven and she just poured out all this love and joy into our hearts.

All of our friends at the Wildflower, Rifugio and Scenic Tents made the new venue space a big success. We are so grateful for the music by Brett Hughes and friends, food from Colavita Cares, Libbey’s Meat Market and Spicey Spoke and the beverages from Lawson’s Finest Liquids and Athletic brew. Dave and Joe from Specialized helped keep bikes riding smoothly and Specialized made two new vinyl banners of Moriah. The donated brand new Specialized Epic 9 Expert bike won by Chip Natvig (from Lawson’s) was a high point at the end of the day.
